jagged little pills

no, these didn't go down easy at all.

straight, simple shot but an absolute f*cker to light. felt like a product photography final exam: show off texture, reflective metal, transparent plastic and translucent gel capsules filled with blood-red liquid in a single setup using just two lights.

that's our mischievous sad-eyed mongrel. he's called prince, but, as you can see, he likes playing the pauper.

st. paul ruins, macau
'ghosts' walking the ruins of st. paul cathedral in macau.

this is a digital version of an old sandwich trick we used to do with slide film. to salvage dead-looking shots from the outtakes bin, just combine two overexposed frames in one slide mount to create better density, and an infinitely more interesting image.

sister luck tempera painting

is screaming out somebody else's name.

album art project inspired by one of my favorite black crowes songs. done old school on posterboard using tempera, correction fluid and letter transfer.

when i grow up, i want to be a panda

man, has he got it made.

free grub, caretakers, a nice, clean, climate-controlled home. his workday consists of eating, sleeping, and getting it on. hell, he's encouraged to shag all the females around, and if he knocks any up, no one gets on his case. instead, they throw a party, haha.

room with a view

we lucked out on the first night in hongkong, getting a hotel room that had a view of the harbour (albeit through the gap between two buildings), right smack where the cruise ships drop anchor.

riverbend

early work in oil, 18in. x 24in. originally meant this to be two separate paintings on a single canvas: something about light, life and growth on one side, darkness, death and decay on the other.

oil on canvas: riverbend

but then, as is often the case while painting, the duende whispered in my ear -- screw the division, he said, let one panel flow into the next.

makes sense. there's a bit of a paradox in everything anyhow.
